In the Central African Republic, only 65.2% of people have access to health care within a 5 km radius. In rural areas this number is reduced to 47%. At least 25% of the area population are located in the hinterland and these people must travel more than 10 km to access a healthcare facility.
HORUS Impact aims to overcome difficulties associated with access to health care infrastructure. To do this, we have compiled a list of solutions that increase access to health service points that we intend to draw inspiration from.
Examples include, mobile clinics or clinics on wheels used by Doctors Without Borders in response to the 2013 - 2014 crisis. In Kenya, motorcycles are used to provide health care. In Malawi, telephone assistance has been implemented. We are inspired by these solutions and will adopt and adapt them to needs and conditions in the field.
The HORUS Impact contribution will be to socialize, vett and finance these strategies, empowering the local community to respond to its own needs. There are several established NGOs already implementing these kinds of solutions in the field, and we will support their activities with additional funding.

How quickly can a consultation be accessed?
