No-till

No-till is a key principle of regenerative agriculture. Turning over the soil is indeed harmful for the structure of the soil and especially for the living beings that inhabit it. Once a balance is reached, the soil's fauna and flora play a mechanical role in aerating the soil, predating pests, eliminating pathogens, etc.

We thus use other practices to sow, without resorting to plowing.

For example, direct sowing is a technique that consists of seeding the main crop (in this case corn, beans or soybeans) through a layer of intermediate crop that covers the soil. The intermediate crop is not removed but flattened on the soil with a roller, constituting a natural mulch and restoring organic matter to the soil. This technique requires specific equipment, in particular for seeding (photo seeder).
